Outlook:the problem child

The problem with Outlook is still not fixed, an Microsoft says that fixing it will take longer than they hoped.

Many Microsoft online services – including SkyDrive, Outlook and Contacts – started having problems on Wednesday. Since then, the problems with SkyDrive and Contacts have been fixed. However, the problem with Outlook is still being fixed (hopefully).

This is what Microsoft said about the technical issues their online services have been experiencing:

“Fixing the problem is taking longer than we hoped. We’ll provide an update by August 15, 1:00 PM [PT]. We apologize for the lengthy interruption in service.”

This is not to say that Microsoft isn’t fixing the problem.

A Microsoft spokesperson sent the following statement to Mary Jo Foley late Wednesday:

“Outlook.com experienced an incident that caused some users not to be able to access their account or share their SkyDrive files. Microsoft has restored web access for all users but some people might still see issues with their mobile devices. The company is working to restore full mobile access as quickly as possible. For the latest information, we encourage users to visit the status page.”
