Guess what guys,no more upside-down USB ports!

The people behind the USB port are starting to re-develop their design, with one aim in mind,to make sure that you can’t put it upside-down! As well as all the other stuff like improved data transport and improved power management.

The upcoming Type-C USB connector will be a challenge to the Apple Lightning connector, with speed(maybe) and the way you put it in – any way you like!

There are a load of USB connectors such as USB,MicroUSB,MiniUSB,ect. USB Type-C will have one port for all of these connector types! Yes,you heard me right!

Alex Peleg, vice president of Intel’s Platform Engineering Group, said in a statement: “This new industry standards-based thin connector, delivering data, power and video, is the only connector one will need across all devices.”

That’s what I call a statement,he’s being quite bold,if I do say so myself. When USB 3.0 was launched,it brought with it an amazing and confusing bunch of connectors, cables and adapters.Plus,to be honest, they all look the same! The only visual difference between USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 is that there is a blue piece of plastic inside the USB 3.0 port!

Sadly,we don’t know what the visual differences between USB3.0 and USB Type-C.

“Unfortunately, we are not yet ready to share illustrations of the proposed new connector,” Brad Saunders, chairman of the USB 3.0 Promoter Group, said Wednesday in an e-mail to CNET. “At this point, we are still in the process of selecting between a couple of alternatives so it would be premature to share something that might be a bit misleading.”
