Anonymous cyberattack:Israel government websites

The group of hackers claim that they have caused more that 2 million pounds in damage to the Israel government in protest, however the Israel officials says that there were no major disruptions.

The hackers claim that they had hacked over 900 government websites, some of those websites were:Israel Police,The Prime Minster’s Office, the Israel Securities Authority, the Immigrant Absorption Ministry and the Central Bureau of Statistics. Also,The Ministry of Defence was offline today and Anonymous took all the credit for the hack in a Tweet, which is below(if you haven’t look down in the past 2 minutes).

Also, the group estimates that #OpIsrael(the operation that this was part of)has caused: over 2 million pounds of damage, hacking more than 100,00 websites,40,00 Facebook accounts and 30,00 bank accounts belong to Israelis. As the Tweet below says.

Yitzhak Ben Yisrael, who is part of the government’s National Cyber Bureau, said that the campaign had caused tiny amount of disruption to key government websites.

He commented to the media, saying the following words:”So far it is as was expected, there is hardly any real damage.”.He also said”Anonymous doesn’t have the skills to damage the country’s vital infrastructure. And if that was its intention, then it wouldn’t have announced the attack ahead of time. It wants to create noise in the media about issues that are close to its heart.”Preety strong words.

Anonymous has already did this kind of thing a couple of months back to protest against the way that the people in Israel treat Palestinians. The last attack spawned millions of attempted hacks. However, according to the government, the disruption was minimal.

They warned last week that they would “disrupt and erase Israel from cyberspace” on April 7,because they think that the government “crossed a line in the sand” when the government threatened that they would cut all internet and other telecommunications in and outside of Gaza !

So,that’s it.So for now,

See ya.
