Google scraps Rss reader in Chrome, why Google?

Like Google Reader,Google will be getting rid of the Rss feed thing in Chrome with over 869,743 users. But,there are other options.

By the way,if you don’t know what an Rss feed it’s like an atom feed.If you don’t know what any of the above are, they are just way to send a notification when ever the website updates something.Anyway,as you know,Google has scraped the Reader service on July 1st.But,they have removed the Rss thing in Chrome.

The feature would find websites’ feeds and direct you to some Rss feed readers so you could subscribe to those feeds.

But don’t despair, the Rss Subscription Extension is based on Google’s one.According to the unofficial Google Operating System Blog.

This is a big pain for me,I use this feature almost everyday. Also,I love Google Reader.it’s great. However,it’s Google. They can be jerks and they have been one here.

The feature has always been in the Chrome Webstore, which means this didn’t really make the cut. But,they think they can scrap it.Google, use your head.

But you might say,’who cares about Rss?’.Well, since this occoured.People have really taken an interest,Freedly says that it got 500,00 new users!

Anyway,I hope you liked this post and I hope you comment, rate and follow.

(FYI,look at this for some Google Reader alternatives: http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-19512_7-57574201-233/google-reader-is-dying-but-we-have-five-worthy-alternatives/ .

Update

Google was wrong.haha.Google has now realised that people care and Google has added the  extention back into the webstore.YAY.
